TGIFF! Thank God It’s #FoodFriday! Today happens to be a holiday (Rodeo Day – celebrated in Osceola County) for the wife and kids, so we invited my Dad and Step-Mom down from NC to come spend the weekend with us. My Dad and Step-Mom are like me in that that they love to eat out. Well, we vowed to them that this trip we were gong to “Eat Local”. NO BIG CHAINS ALLOWED! Well today we struck gold for #FoodFriday.
We made the trip out to Clermont to take a trip up the Citrus Tower. I’ll post more on this historical landmark in a later post. In the parking lot of the Citrus Tower is a restaurant that frankly should be featured on Diners, Dives & Drive Inns. The restaurant is Uncle Kenny’s BBQ. This local restaurant just celebrated 3 years at their location serving Kansas City style BBQ, however in talking with the owners they have years of in cooking experience. Uncle Kenny’s BBQ was est. in 2004. They started out in the catering business and have been done very well in the BBQ Competition community, winning the Florida State Championship 2010.
We stopped in today for a late lunch and started our meal with an appetizer of their Pull Pork Eggrolls and Fried Macaroni and Cheese for the kids. Seriously, the Pulled Pork Eggrolls could have been a meal. They were huge!
Once the appetizer was completed our lunch was served. We enjoyed the Catfish Platter special, BBQ Ribs, BBQ Sliced Brisket, Chopped Brisket and Pulled Pork. None of us had a single bite left on our plate. It was that good.

After our meals we thought were done and then the waitress had to present dessert. Let me just say, this may have been the best darn homemade Peanut Butter Pie I’ve ever had. Holy Cow it was good!
