If you’ve ever participated in a runDisney event, you know it’s all about the medal! This year runDisney will be celebrating their 5th anniversary of the Wine and Dine Half Marathon and it will also celebrate it’s 10th anniversary of the Goofy Road Race and Half Challenge. In honor of these milestones, Disney Yellow Shoes Art Director David Brotherton has designed two beautiful finisher medals.
The Wine and Dine anniversary medal features a spinner at the heart of the medal. You will notice that Spaceship Earth was a major influence with this medal, while the other side has Chef Mickey running the race. The Wine and Dine Half Marathon is a sold out runDisney race that will take place in November and I’m confident that all the finishers will love this medal.
Registration for the 2015 Walt Disney World Marathon presented by Cigna will begin on April 22. I have to believe this Goofy Challenge anniversary medal might be just enough to cause this event to sell out in record time. This 10th anniversary medal is in those Goofy colors and it too has a spinner in the heart of the medal. One side celebrates the accomplishment of the half marathon, and when you spin it, Goofy turns upside down and lets you know you added on another 26.2 miles, a grand total of 39.3 miles over two days…which is well just Goofy!
