Earlier today on the Taking the Florida Plunge Facebook Page, we shared with you that rumors were swirling and those rumors now appear to have truth to them. After speaking with a few of our sources, it appears the iconic Disney Hollywood Studios Sorcerer Hat will be removed. This Disney landmark has been a part of Disney Hollywood Studios since 2001 as part of the “100 Years of Magic”. The removal of the sorcerer hat will once again bring back the Hollywood vibe to Disney Hollywood Studios, as the center of attention will now will be The Chinese Theatre. We have spoken to a few sources and all have said the removal date will be as early as January 5th, 2015. As you know, The Great Movie Ride attraction is housed in the theatre. Our sources have also shared with us that major updates to this attraction will be coming in the very near future as well.
Another change coming to Disney Hollywood Studios will be the closing of Disney Hollywood Studios walk through attraction “The Legend of Captain Jack Sparrow“. This attraction will be closing on November 6, 2014.
