As part of the new #FoodFriday series, I’ve invited a few bloggers to offer their dining recommendations. Today, I’d like to introduce you to Michelle Stewart, owner of We All Gotta Eat. Enjoy as Michelle shares with us Luma on Park.
I had the opportunity to visit Luma on Park this weekend (thanks to a generous gift card from my boss). The hubs and I made the most of our child-free afternoon, and indulged in a 2 hour, 5 course lunch at Luma. It was a wonderful experience! (Both the food and the child-free lunch part.)
We were among the first to arrive for lunch service on Sunday, and had reservations for 11:30 a.m. After being seated, we told our server, Courtney, that we were going to enjoy a long lunch and he was happy to accommodate us through the entire visit.
We began our meal with sweet potato soup.
Made with white and yellow sweet potatoes, and topped with a citrus crème fraîche, truffle oil, and chervil, this soup was light and delicious. The citrus flavor, truffle oil and black pepper perfectly seasoned this dish.
The hubs and I shared a Caesar salad.
The house-made croutons were especially good.
Next, I enjoyed the roasted cauliflower tart appetizer.
This tart was made with gran cru gruyere and was topped with a fried egg, a suprising and tasty flavor combination, and plated with a frisée salad, and garlic and chive purée. I definitely recommend you try this, I absolutely loved it. The hubs had a hard time deciding between a few of the appetizers (all of them looked good, really), so our served suggested the spinach-ricotta ravioli.
The ravioli was served atop broccolini, melted onions, carrots, and thinly sliced jalapeño, and seasoned with chili flake. The colors in this dish were wonderful, and the textures of the soft ravioli in contrast to the crispness of the carrots and jalapeño made me love this dish too.
For my entrée, I chose the Idaho rainbow trout. This dish smelled amazing, and the flavor combinations were incredible.
The trout was served on a bed of red colusari rice, eggplant purée, broccolini, roasted carrots, fennel and salsa verde.
The hubs chose the Snake River Farms flank steak.
The steak was seasoned to perfection, topped with Bordelaise sauce, and served with a classic wedge salad and fries.
As we came to the end of our meal, we were completely stuffed and beyond satisfied, yet we still managed to fit in a dessert (we shared). We opted for the brownie à la mode.
This decadent brownie was rich and creamy on the inside with a light flake on top, and was served with a small dollop of vanilla ice cream, and covered in a sweet caramel sauce.
We met the general manager, Tim Noelke, and let him know how much we enjoyed our visit and appreciated the great service by Courtney. He definitely recommended we come back for dinner, so we went ahead and made a reservation for our next visit. (Happy birthday to me!) Can’t wait to return!
