Disney celebrates the 50th anniversary of their famous ride “It’s a Small World” ride today, 4/10/14. Walt Disney himself helped create the small world ride to honor UNICEF at the 1964 World’s Fair in New York. No, the ride doesn’t have the latest 3-D technology or superheros, so why is this ride such an icon? This ride, in it’s simplicity, of color and motion reminds us of all the good that exist in the world. Not to mention, it also has a catchy tune!
