We recently stayed at Disney’s Art of Animation resort on our last trip to Walt Disney World. If you have young kids and are looking for value, this is a great property! We really enjoyed the pools and all the special Disney touches that Disney does so amazingly well. I know first-hand that travelling with young kids can be a challenge, but this resort was definitely created with young ones in mind (okay maybe the adults too).
The resort is spread out and different areas are defined by themes: Finding Nemo, Cars, The Lion King and of course The Little Mermaid. We stayed in The Little Mermaid Room
and my 6-year-old daughter LOVED IT!!! We really felt like we had stepped into Ariel’s underwater adventure. Everything is so colorful and bright it was a fun experience for the whole family. The Little Mermaid rooms were in the very back of the resort area. It was a little bit of a walk but, in my opinion, so worth it. On our journey to the room there was so much to look at. Every two minutes there was something that caught my daughter’s eye and there she was all ready for a “photo opp”.
There are three beautiful pools, you can catch a movie in the evening at The Lion King Courtyard, and Landscape of Flavors offers a variety of food for the whole family. Did you
know that Disney’s Art of Animation resort has its own dedicated bus service? For me this is a huge perk because at the end of a long day of being at the parks with your kids a quick trip back to the hotel is much needed. This is also a great time saver in the mornings because you aren’t stopping at other resorts on the way to the parks. I like to think it allowed me a few more minutes of sleep and a little more time to enjoy my coffee. Because, let’s face it, moms with young kids need a lot of both!
